So if you are military Veteran, Active Military, Disabled Veteran etc, did you know in Texas, because I cannot speak for other states, but in Texas through the Texas VLB (Texas Veterans Land Board) you can get 1/2 point off the interest rate if you are 30% or more disabled when buying a home. So example, if the current interest rate is 3.17 take 1/2 point off and you get, 2.67 AMAZING!!!!
If you are Active Duty you can take advantage of there lower interest rate and still use a VA loan.

This is pretty Awesome. It definitely helps you to be able to afford a little bigger home or a home on a certain side of town. Not only that, dont’ forget to put in for your Homestaead Exemption. This will also save you on taxes. If you are disabled, check your county website, but you will get additional exemptions based on your percentage. This will also lower your taxes.
